Rabbi Gerace earned her Bachelor of Arts in Jewish Studies and Spanish Language from Tulane University in New Orleans, where she was honored as the Outstanding Student in Jewish Studies by Elizabeth and Fritz Krauss. She began her professional career in Los Angeles as a youth advisor and early childhood educator for Jewish youth.
Prior to that, she attended Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, where she received her rabbinic ordination in 2013 and was a Mandel Fellow. She was also a graduate of the Teaching Israel Fellow program at American Jewish University and the Senior Educators Cohort at the M2 Institute for Experiential Jewish Education.
