Jack Hairston Obituary, Death Cause – The demise of Jack Hairston, our esteemed Founder and President of Jack the Bike Man, Inc., a Non-Profit Organization, came as a shock and was unexpectedly brought forward. It is with the utmost sorrow and profound regret that we make this announcement. On Friday, July 7, 2023, Jack passed away as a result of a catastrophic heart attack, leaving all of us in shock and utter devastation.
Samuel H. “Jack” Hairston III was a remarkable person whose unflinching dedication to our organization and the communities we serve has left an imprint that will never be erased. In 1999, Jack was moved to assist a young man who needed assistance with repairing his bicycle.

This was the moment that marked the beginning of the Organization. In 2007, Jack the Bike Man, Inc. was established with the purpose of bolstering our community through cycling education and safety programs, and with the vision of creating a community of healthy, active persons by giving hope to those who are less fortunate through assistance, training, and access to bicycles. Both of these goals are reflected in the organization’s mission and vision statements. Because to his exceptional leadership, the Organization has expanded and developed, positively affecting the lives of a great number of people and families.

Jack’s dedication to our organization’s objective was unrivaled, and he worked relentlessly to further its goals by tirelessly devoting his time and energy to the cause. His compassion for those in need extended beyond the confines of Palm Beach County and into Guatemala, a country he traveled to frequently over the course of his life while making significant financial investments in the futures of numerous children there. As part of his many philanthropic endeavors in Guatemala, he gave students living in disadvantaged neighborhoods access to improved educational opportunities by sending textbooks, laptops, and other materials.
