Stormzy Named Oxford University ACSs Person Of The Year
Stormzy has been named Person Of The Year by the Oxford University African and Caribbean Society (ACS).
The ACS, which represents students of African and Caribbean heritage, chose to bestow the honour on the UK Grime star, following a success year which saw his debut album ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ reach number 1 in the UK album chart.
Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Stormy wrote “Today I received the “Person Of The Year” Award from Oxford University ACS.”

Stormzy has formed a strong bond with the prestigious British university over the past 12 months.
In March 2016, the ‘Big For Your Boots’ rapper held a question and answer session with 300 students at the Oxford Guild, the university’s oldest and largest careers society.
And earlier this year Stormzy, real name Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo, donated £9,000 to Oxford University graduate Fiona Asiedu’s crowdfunding campaign to attend Harvard University.
Asiedu launched the campaign after she was offered a place to study Human Development and Psychology at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Fiona needed to raise £12,000 to secure a place on the course, which is due to start this August.
Stormzy became aware of the campaign after a friend of Asiedu’s tweeted him.
