Sutton Stracke Reveals Why She Was Demoted From Full-Time Cast Member To Friend On Real Housew

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke was supposed to get a diamond this season, but she recently revealed that she was demoted to a “friend” of the show at the last minute because of her ex-husband, Christian Stracke.

Stracke recently told Kate Casey on her podcast Reality Life with Kate Casey that she began filming Season 10 of RHOBH as a full-time cast member. But, producers demoted her when Christian decided that Sutton couldn’t film with their three teenage children.

“My ex-husband just was adamant that they could not film with me and I totally get it,” explained Sutton. ” “It was hard. It was a hard blow because, you know, it’s exciting to do. And I wanted also viewers to see me with my kids and me at home.”

Sutton explained that seeing her at home with her kids is “the softer side.” And, even though Bravo doesn’t show the ladies at home with their families that much – because she says it’s “not that interesting” – it is still “the soft underbelly of who these women are.” Sutton says she is sorry that fans can’t see that this season.

According to Page Six, Sutton married Christian in 2000 after they met as teenagers and then reconnected later in life. The former couple divorced in 2017 and are the parents of three: sons Philip and James, and daughter Porter.

Christian works as a managing director at PIMCO, which is the same investment management firm that Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter’s ex-husband Matt worked at before he was fired.

The company is known for its strict “no media” policy, as this was the reason Matt never appeared on RHOC. This could be why Christian was so adamant about the kids he shares with Sutton avoiding Bravo cameras.

Still, Sutton wants to be part of RHOBH because she wants to be a role model for her daughter. Being on the show gives her a sense of purpose, and has allowed her to get herself together and do something for herself so her daughter could be proud.

“And actually, my boys, too, they always wanted to know what I did all day. And it was like nothing. Like go to the gym. I don’t know. I didn’t have like a real purpose besides taking care of them,” explained Sutton Stracke. “So it’s been fun to watch them watch me and then the show came up at this really opportune time and I think I finally had the guts to do something like this and take a risk.”
